Natalie Cassidy's ex-fiance Adam Cottrell admits 'smearing her with mascara and striking her with a slipper'

Adam Cottrell has been warned he could be facing a prison sentence after admitting 2 counts of assault on ex-EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy in court today.

'The defendant lost his temper and he assaulted her by smearing her with mascara and striking her with a slipper on the upper leg,' Prosecutor Elaine McMillan told East Hertfordshire Magistrates' Court regarding the first assault on 13 April.

The 2nd incident took place on 20 May: '[He] grabbed her by the arms and he ripped her top. The aggravating features appear to be that these offences are committed when the defendant has consumed alcohol,' Mrs McMillan continued.

She confirmed there was a child in the flat during both incidents. �

Transport manager Adam also confessed to one count of criminal damage. He smashed a microwave, wine glasses and a candelabra at the couple's
Hertfordshire flat. A second count of criminal damage was withdrawn.�

Natalie, 28, and Adam, who are parents to 8-month-old Eliza, have now separated.

'Nat's once happy family life is over,' a source tells Now. 'She's called off the wedding and they've split for the time being.'

Adam, 31, will be sentenced on 21 June.
