Emo Fashion
The Emo Life Style
Many have heard the term "emo", but for those not knowing the term it might be a bit confusing. The reason it might be a bit difficult to understand is that it's both a fashion style, and a music style. It can also be regarded as combining the two styles to become a lifestyle. However; there are some aspects of the emo lifestyle that is less appealing, and I want everyone to stay away from, even if other emo's do it: self damage. Cutting you with knives or doing other harm to yourself has no base in reality and is as stupid as it can get. So please stay away from these actions. You will only harm yourself and those who love you by such foolish actions.
Let's have a short glimpse at the music style first. Emo is based on the word "emotional music". This is most likely why we think of emo's as emotional, sensitive and depressive (thought; depression is just a stupid part of the emo style; which most likely causes self damage). If you ask me, being emotional and sensitive is far enough, being depressive and sad all the time doesn't do anyone any good. There is a large difference between being emotional/sensitive and being depressive, why so many choose the depressive path is a mystery for me. Back to the music style; the music style is a combination of hard punk and the indie rock movement. The emo music style started in the early 1990's but didn't become popular till early 2000.

Hoodies: hoodies are part of the emo fashion, but just not any regular hoodie. Hoodies with fun prints like skulls or cute prints and designs on the hoodie. The great thing about wearing a hoodie emo style, that they make hoodies for all seasons.
Extra Shirt: no not to carry around if you have a spill, but an extra plain white- t shirt or something with a solid print or designs to wear under your regular t-shirt, so you can create a layered look. Usually the emo layered look, consists of the under shirt being long sleeved while the top shirt is short sleeved.
Scarves: scarves are definitely a fashion statement for the emo look, to be worn any way they would like to. Scarves are usually long and knitted with solid colors, prints or stripes are always a nice touch.
Shoes: the shoes are quite simple in emo fashion, most emo trenders wear conversers or vans along with their hoodies and jeans or any other flat shoe without a sole would do the trick to complete the emo look.
Emo Hairstyles: Emo hairstyles are now again in fashion today.
Emo Make up - boys and girls can both wear make up with the emo look, but boys should limit their make up choice colors to primarily black. Thick black eyeliner and rugged black nail polish for boys will be essential of being classified as an emo. As for girls wearing make up the same colors as their outfits will go a long way.

Emo boys and emo girls try to be unique and comfortable in society with one’s self by expressing their individuality and self-expression through the emo hairstyles adopted. If you feel that all the conventional hairstyles you can get in saloons are boring and you don’t fit them at all, why follow the flock? I’d suggest you consider picking up some dye, a pair of scissors and razor and do up your hair the Emo hairstyle way! Most importantly is to have fun, play around, and be creative when performing your emo haircuts and then people will admire your Emo hairstyle.
Before you embark on this journey or if you’ve already taken on the Emo hairstyles and emo haircuts style, you would know that people devote a lot of time into these high-maintenance haircuts.
